The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has reported to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the traffic situation of Phu Cuong bridge and connecting roads in Binh My commune and Thu Dau Mot ward.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, Phu Cuong bridge is 446m long, 14m gauge, organizes 2-way traffic, with 2 lanes in each direction.
Through review, some inadequacies were recorded such as: Phu Cuong bridge toll station is located relatively close to Phu Cuong bridge, causing vehicles to slow down when going down the bridge slope or traveling at low speed to get onto the bridge; the current state of the expansion joints has been severely damaged, subsided, causing traffic unsafety;

In addition, the toll station area on Huynh Van Cu street has a median strip opening point (intersection with Nguyen Van Cu street), so there is a situation where vehicles when passing through the toll station turn left into Nguyen Van Cu street and vehicles traveling from the service road (direction from Bach Dang park) to the toll station to turn around to Phu Cuong bridge or turn left into Nguyen Van Cu street causing conflict and intersection;
Up to now, functional units have not yet received plans to handle incidents and situations of opening barriers to clear vehicles in case of traffic congestion from the toll management unit.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the current traffic situation through the Phu Cuong bridge area is very complicated. The Department of Construction requests localities to strengthen handling of violations on roads connecting Phu Cuong bridge. Request agencies to accelerate the construction progress of related projects connecting Phu Cuong bridge.

At the same time, it is requested that Phu Cuong Bridge BOT Joint Stock Company urgently repair the damaged structures on Phu Cuong bridge, regularly clean and collect soil accumulated on the bridge surface and roads to the bridge; and not continue to let inadequacies in bridge structures occur causing traffic disorder and safety.
In addition, strengthen coordination with local police to deploy incident handling plans when traffic congestion occurs on Phu Cuong bridge and connecting roads.
