On August 19, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Hoi An Dong Ward (Da Nang City) visited, encouraged, and congratulated the officers and soldiers of the Ward Police on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
On this occasion, the ward leaders commended the unit and individuals of Lieutenant Colonel Le Phuong Toan - Head of the ward Police - for their quick coordination with related forces to successfully rescue a victim of the "online kidnapping" case.

Previously, on the evening of August 16, the ward police received a report that T.N (born in 2006, residing in the area) had been " kidnapped". The subject asked the family to pay 400 million VND as a ransom.
Immediately upon receiving the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Le Phuong Toan reported to the City Police Command Information Center, and at the same time requested support from professional units.
During the handling process, the ward police both encouraged and reassured the family and coordinated to lure the subject. At the same time, the police force coordinated with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, the Criminal Police Department and Ngu Hanh Son Ward Police to conduct the search.
After just over 3 hours of urgent intervention, the police found T.N at a motel in Ngu Hanh Son ward. At the time of discovery, the victim was in a state of psychological control and continuously made video calls to the subject in Cambodia.

The case was resolved quickly and promptly, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the grassroots police force, while warning about the sophisticated tricks of the type of crime "online kidnapping" that are showing signs of increasing.
