At the groundbreaking ceremony for the City Children's Palace construction project on the morning of October 10, Mr. Ngo Minh Hai - City Party Committee member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union said that the groundbreaking ceremony for the City Children's Palace is an important milestone, demonstrating the concern of the city's leaders.
When completed, the project will become a modern living, studying, training, creative and entertainment space for children in the city. At the same time, it is a new cultural - educational symbol of Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee said that the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Palace is a key project to welcome the 1st City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
When the city decided to build the City Children's Palace in the new urban area of Thu Thiem, it was a manifestation of determination and vision towards the dual goals of education, human development and urban development. At the same time, concretize the orientation to build Ho Chi Minh City into a typical international super city of Southeast Asia.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized that the project is oriented to become a comprehensive center for education, culture, and sports; a place to nurture talent, practice social skills, physical fitness, and shape personality for the young generation of Ho Chi Minh City. This is also a sustainable investment for the future of the city.
The City Children's Palace was built on land No. 5-2 in the functional area No. 5 of An Khanh Ward. The main project is designed with a scale of 10 floors, including 1 basement, 1 ground floor and 9 upper floors.
The total area of the land is 39,911.50 m2 with a construction floor area of 38,012.05 m2, ensuring spacious, multi-functional space for all learning, playing and living activities.
Regarding the total investment, the project was approved with a value of VND 1,124 billion, allocated from the city budget for the period up to December 31, 2028.

The difference and uniqueness of the City Children's Palace is the comprehensive complex serving children, harmonious between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Main construction block (inner house):
Inside, professional areas such as 4 audiences, multi-purpose halls with 300 - 600 seats; 06 cinemas with 127-175 seats; rooms for art, martial arts, engineering, talent, physical training playground, swimming pool... Each floor is a world of different knowledge and experiences.
Outdoor and landscape items
The landscape area will be designed to be cool green with a small park, a central square as a place to organize large events and collective activities, along with miniature exploration areas.
The highlight of this item is the water square - an outdoor grandstand with 1,308 seats and a roof. This outdoor stage has an area of about 1,246m2.
The project also fully invests in technical infrastructure systems from power supply, water supply, drainage, multi-functional sound and lighting equipment and BMS management system operating as a "central brain" to monitor, control and optimize most of the electromechanical technical systems in the building in a synchronous and automatic manner.
