Recently, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "In the factory accused of sucking water next to a sewer in Lao Cai" reflecting the concerns of people in Bao Ha commune about the quality of water supply of the clean water supply unit in the area.
The worrying thing is that the plant's water collection location is right next to the domestic sewers of the residential area, causing increasing insecurity.

In mid-October, according to the location reported by the people, the pump head and the straw next to the sewer have been dismantled and are no longer in use.

On October 10, speaking with reporters, Mr. Le Xuan Dong - Head of Bao Ha Clean Water Plant once again affirmed that the information "pulling water next to the sewers to supply to the people" was incorrect.
According to Mr. Dong, draining water here is only for the purpose of cleaning the settling tank and releasing sludge periodically, not using this water source to treat or re-supply to people.

"The plant has a clear operating process and a regularly controlled water filtration system. The drainage near that area is only temporary, serving the cleaning of the settling tank. We affirm that the output water quality is completely up to standards, people can feel secure in using it" - Mr. Dong emphasized.

According to the station chief, the factory's raw water is taken directly from the Red River through large pipes, then through a thorough treatment, filming and disinfection system before being supplied to the people.
"After receiving feedback from the press, the commune government and departments also came to where we were checking. The unit provided complete documents and inspection information and all met the requirements," said the Head of Bao Ha Clean Water Plant.
Regarding the concerns of the people, Mr. Le Xuan Dong said that it is difficult for the unit to decide and explain to the people. Therefore, we have to ask the government to intervene to rectify and communicate with them more easily.

However, in response to the above reflection, many opinions hope that the relevant agencies will soon take action in inspecting and collecting water samples to publicize the results, in order to ensure transparency and create trust for the people.
Mr. Dang Huy Bao (residing in Lien Ha 1 village, Bao Ha commune) shared: "Hearing that people are worried about drinking water next to the sewers, even though the factory says they do not use that water, we still want the authorities to check it for more peace of mind".

Also on the morning of October 10, informing reporters, Ms. Vu Thi Ngat - Vice Chairman of Bao Ha Commune People's Committee said that after receiving the feedback, the commune government chaired a meeting with relevant parties and representatives of the health sector and the water plant.
The water supply unit has reported on the quality of the outgoing water. The government requires the factory to rectify, not to install water pumping pipes like that and to avoid incidents that affect public opinion.
Ms. Ngat also said that the locality will direct the health sector to strengthen surprise inspections and regularly coordinate water quality monitoring.
