Controlling ferocious pig-tailed macaques continuously attacking people in Hai Phong

Hai Phong - Kien Hai Commune Police have just coordinated to handle a stray pig-tailed macaque, which regularly attacks people and destroys property.

Information from Hai Phong City Police, on August 5, functional agencies received a report about a monkey appearing in Tan Phong village, Kien Hai commune, Hai Phong. This monkey showed signs of ferocity, continuously attacking people, livestock and causing property damage in the residential area.

Immediately after receiving the information, Kien Hai Commune Police quickly arrested and recovered the safe monkey individual. Through inspection, functional forces determined that this is a pig-tailed monkey, belonging to Group IIB in the List of endangered, precious, and rare forest plants and animals (according to Decree 06/2019/ND-CP, amended by Decree 84/2021/ND-CP).

Currently, Kien Hai Commune Police are advising the Commune People's Committee to coordinate with the Hai Phong Region II Forest Protection Department to receive, manage and handle this monkey individual in accordance with the law.
