The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District has just issued a notice related to the project to renovate and beautify Ly Thai To flower garden.
According to the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, Ly Thai To Flower Garden is located in Trang Tien Ward with a total area of 11,459m2, limited by Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thach, Le Lai and Ngo Quyen streets.
The flower garden space will be rearranged into three main areas: Khanh Ho area adjacent to Dinh Tien Hoang street has an area of about 5,637m2, Bat Quang house yard area has an area of about 3,033 m2 and the flower garden area behind Ngo Quyen street has an area of about 2,789 m2.
In particular, Khanh Ho area includes the lobby adjacent to Dinh Tien Hoang street, Khanh Ho yard and incense offering yard, in which the monument to King Ly Thai To is the highest part, the pedestal is kept intact, only the yard surface is revealed. Expanding Khanh Ho Stadium towards the sidewalk of Dinh Tien Hoang Street.
The Km0 category was placed in the center of Khanh Ho Stadium from the results of the competition for options organized by the Vietnam Association of Architects in 2020 which are being adjusted to suit the current technical conditions.
The area of the three corners house will have completed the landscape of trees, lawns and yard areas to increase connectivity to the central spatial axis.
The flower garden area ( Behind the monument of King Ly Thai To and the three-door house, connected to the State Bank Square) has been renovated, the landscape of the trees has been renovated, the walking path has a floor water spraying system for use in festivals and holidays and contributes to improving the micro-climate of the area. The sprayers are placed at the floor so the flat surface of the yard is small in scale and does not affect the activities of people and tourists when coming to the flower garden.
According to the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District, the total number of trees in Ly Thai To flower garden has been planted in many different periods with a total of 100 trees (20 types) such as: Lemongrass, yellow anh, cool can, lentils, incense sticks, red wine grapes, regent, muong, banyan, plantain, sliced, soai, phoenix, si, sanh, milk, green rice, vegetarian, crab, water oil.
When renovating the flower garden, Hoan Kiem district will implement the principle that valuable trees, perennial crops, and old trees will not be affected, only replace and relocate small trees that are not valuable, and disease-prone pests.
The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District proposed to relocate and relocate 25 trees (of which 16 trees will be relocated within the flower garden, replacing 9 disease-prone pests); replace and supplement 23 trees with varieties suitable for the Hanoi climate.
When completed, the total number of shade trees in Ly Thai To flower garden was 114 (an increase of 14 trees compared to before the renovation).
The plan to renovate and beautify Ly Thai To flower garden has completed the community consultation on February 25, 2025. Construction is expected to be completed in April 2025 and completed in October 2025.
