According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, on January 6, cold air continued to intensify, causing the common temperature in the province to fluctuate from 24–26 degrees C; mountainous areas are about 1-2 degrees C lower. Some places have scattered showers, mainly concentrated in the North of the province.
It is forecasted that during the day and night of January 5, the cold air mass will affect the Northern and Central regions, including Khanh Hoa. On land, the Northeast wind will remain at level 3-4, the coastal area at level 5, sometimes gusting at level 6-7.
The lowest temperature in this cold air wave in Khanh Hoa is commonly from 20–22 degrees C. Especially in mountainous areas, some places drop to 18–20 degrees C. Due to the impact of strong cold air, the locality is likely to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms in the coming days.
At sea, on January 5 and 6, the sea area of Khanh Hoa, including the Truong Sa special zone, will have strong Northeast winds at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts at level 8-9.
Sea waves are 2-5m high, rough seas. All ships and activities in these sea areas are warned to be at high risk of being affected by strong winds and big waves.
Functional agencies recommend that fishermen and units operating at sea regularly monitor weather developments, proactively take preventive measures to ensure safety for people and property.
