On January 8, Ia Toi Commune Police (Quang Ngai province) said that they had just coordinated with functional forces to successfully rescue 2 teenagers drifting more than 40 km on the Se San 4 hydropower reservoir to return to their families safely.
Previously, on the evening of January 6, two teenagers, Ro Cham Tinh and Ro Lan Tai (both 12 years old, residing in Ia Krai commune, Gia Lai province) invited each other to go by family motorboat to the Se San 4 hydropower reservoir area, passing through Ia Krai commune to fish.
However, due to the darkness and loss of direction, the boat ran out of fuel, so both of them sat on the boat and drifted for many hours on the hydropower lake.
Until dawn on January 7, Ia Toi Commune Police received a report about the discovery of a floating boat in the Se San 4 hydropower lake area (section passing through village 7, Ia Toi commune).
At the time of discovery, the boat of the 2 teenagers was about 40 km from the starting point.
Upon receiving the information, Ia Toi Commune Police quickly coordinated with grassroots security forces and local people to approach the location of the floating boat.
Here, functional forces discovered 2 teenagers on the boat in a state of weakened health, mental panic due to the vehicle running out of fuel, drifting for many hours.
Ia Toi Commune Police organized to tow the boat ashore safely, and at the same time supported food, care, and helped 2 teenagers stabilize their health.
Ia Toi Commune Police coordinated with Ia Krai Commune Police to notify the family to hand over the 2 teenagers home safely.
