Long-lasting heavy rain in Vung Tau area, some places are flooded with vehicles

HCMC - Heavy rain lasting more than 2 hours in the Vung Tau area caused many places to be deeply flooded.

In the early morning of August 21, after a heavy rain lasting more than 2 hours, most of the previous Vung Tau City area was flooded, many places were deeply flooded.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, from around 1am on August 21, this area experienced thunder and very heavy rain. The continuous heavy rain lasted until about 3:30 a.m. before stopping. Almost all roads in this area are flooded.

Recorded in the Nguyen Binh Khiem street area, flooding was more than 40cm deep, some places were more than 50cm deep; the areas of Le Loi, Pham Hong Thai streets... were also flooded similarly, some places were flooded deeper.

Many major roads such as Le Hong Phong and Phan Chu Trinh were also flooded from 10-20cm. Many places have floodwaters causing flooding in apartments.

Ms. T.P.T (a resident of Le Loi Street, Vung Tau Ward) said: "The rain was so heavy that water from outside flooded in, flooding the house more than 10cm, the whole family did not sleep to prevent flooding".

In the Thi Sach street area (intersection between Vung Tau and Tam Thang wards), some tourists park their cars in low-lying areas, so when it rains heavily, vehicles are deeply submerged in water, some vehicles float lightly.

Due to heavy rain in the middle of the night, it did not affect traffic much. Rainwater is expected to drain quickly and traffic will be restored early in the morning.
