The Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB) has just had the initial information about the phenomenon of sludge spraying on the ground during drilling tunnel with the first TBM excavator (Tunnel Boring Machine), at the underground route of the Hanoi Pilot Urban Railway Project, Nhon - Hanoi Station (Metro Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station).
Accordingly, on the afternoon of May 27, during the excavation of TBM No. 1, a mixture of mud sprayed on the ground, in the area in front of houses 25C and 25E Cat Linh (Dong Da district).
As soon as the above phenomenon was discovered, the construction contractor immediately activated the project's emergency process, under the supervision of the investor, MRB, supervision consultant (PIC), local authorities and related units, stopped drilling of TBM No. 1 to reduce the amount of added mud but still had to ensure stability of the peach mirror.
"The contractor has taken remedial measures, mobilized maximum manpower, mud suction trucks, collected and treated mud at the scene, re-checked the geological conditions in the area where the phenomenon occurred to soon stabilize the situation," MrB informed.
Currently, MRB is closely coordinating with relevant units to accurately assess the cause and deploy technical measures to prevent similar incidents in the next phase.
MrB said that the unit has been seriously implementing solutions to ensure safety during the construction process, complying with technical standards and current regulations.
At the same time, we will continue to update information on the construction status and coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure the progress and quality of the project.
