On October 6, Lao Dong news source reported that on the same morning, the Standing Committee of the Inspection Committee (IC) of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee agreed to establish an inspection team to inspect signs of violations related to the case of Mr. P.T.P - Secretary of the Party Committee of Bo Ngoong Commune - who was suspected of not participating in the training course for cadres according to regulations but attending a Pickleball tournament.
"Mr. P has explained the incident to the Inspection Committee. However, to clearly determine whether there is a violation or not, to what extent, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission will set up an inspection team to verify and clarify," informed a leader of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on August 29, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics issued Document No. 1754 to the Standing Committees of Provincial Party Committees and centrally run City Party Committees on organizing training courses to update knowledge and skills for leaders and managers of communes, wards and special zones.
The class took place from September 6 to 8 in person at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and online at all locations in communes, wards and special zones across the country. The participants include Secretary, Deputy Secretary; Chairman, Vice Chairman of the People's Council; Chairman, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, and leaders of a number of commune-level agencies and units.
However, Mr. P.T.P was suspected of not participating in this training course but attending the "U90+ Love Pickleball Dance" held on September 7 at a sports field in Chu Se commune (Gia Lai).
Some photos provided by the people show the presence of Mr. P.T.P at the "U90+ Love Pickleball Dance" tournament at the same time as the training course.
On the afternoon of October 6, speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. M - the tournament organizer - confirmed that Mr. P and his wife attended the "U90+ Love Pickleball Dance" tournament, however, the time Mr. P started the match was near noon.
"Mr. P only played 1-2 matches and then rushed home, not having time to eat lunch even though the stadium had prepared rice. Mr. P left at around 12 noon," said Ms. M.
