On the afternoon of October 6, the working group of the Ministry of Justice led by Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Inspection of Legal Documents and Management of Administrative Violations (Ministry of Justice), inspected the implementation of the law on handling administrative violations in the field of fisheries for the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command.
Presenting to the working group, Colonel Nguyen Hong Khiem, Deputy Commander of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, said: The unit's work of handling violations in the field of seafood has been seriously implemented, in accordance with legal regulations. The unit has regularly updated, thoroughly grasped and instructed officers and soldiers to properly implement the legal process on administrative sanctions. At the same time, coordinate with relevant agencies to promote propaganda on legal regulations, especially illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, concentrated in key areas.
At the meeting, the working group inspected the dossier to handle administrative violations in the fisheries sector. Especially cases related to the fight against IUU fishing carried out by competent positions of the Border Guard. The delegation conducted a preliminary review and assessment of the dossier, listened to explanations, and clarified a number of related contents to comprehensively assess the law enforcement process at the unit.
Through the inspection, the members of the working group pointed out some shortcomings and limitations, and proposed solutions to overcome them in the coming time.
In her concluding remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha acknowledged the efforts and achievements of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard in law enforcement and handling administrative violations in the fisheries sector.
Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha requested the unit to continue to overcome the limitations and synchronously deploy measures to improve the effectiveness of the process of handling administrative violations, especially for IUU fishing violations.
