On May 16, information from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province said that it had just proposed adding 1 passenger station on the North - South high-speed railway line (in Xuan Loc district) to facilitate the province's socio-economic development.
This is a proposal made at the working session of the Provincial People's Committee with consulting units, departments, branches and localities on site clearance for the North-South high-speed railway project.
The North-South high-speed railway section through Dong Nai province is nearly 82km long, passing through Xuan Loc, Cam My, Long Thanh, Nhon Trach districts and Long Khanh city.
In Dong Nai province, 1 passenger terminal will be arranged in the Long Thanh international airport area, 1 cargo terminal in Quang Tien commune, Trang Bom district and 2 maintenance stations located in Lang Minh commune, Xuan Loc district and Cam Duong commune, Long Thanh district.
To implement the project, Dong Nai province will reclaim an area of about 490 hectares of land with a cost of nearly 11,700 billion VND.
Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee recommends that the consulting unit consider and add to the project dossier an additional passenger terminal in Xuan Loc district to facilitate the province's socio-economic development.
According to the consulting unit, the North-South high-speed railway project has a total length of more than 1,500km passing through 20 provinces and cities with a total investment of more than 67 billion USD.
In terms of technology, the North-South high-speed railway project is invested in the form of a high-speed railway running on the rail, exploiting passenger transport and being able to exploit freight transport when necessary. The project's design speed is 350 km/h, the exploitation speed is 320 km/h. The route will have 23 passenger stations, potential stations, 5 cargo stations, 9 depots (5 passenger depots and 4 cargo depots), 45 maintenance stations.
