HCMC - The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Intersection with National Highway 50 (Binh Chanh District) has a total capital of VND591 billion, expected to start construction at the end of 2025, and be completed in 2026.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance has just submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for consideration and approval of the investment policy for the project to complete the intersection between Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and National Highway 50 in Binh Chanh District.

The total estimated investment capital is about 591 billion VND, of which construction costs account for 457 billion VND, the rest is for consulting, project management and reserves.

According to the plan, if approved, the project will complete the feasibility study report in the third quarter of 2025; complete the technical design and construction drawings from the third quarter to the fourth quarter of 2025.

The project is expected to start construction at the end of 2025 and be completed between the second quarter and the fourth quarter of 2026 - the same time as the entire Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway will be put into operation.

According to the Department of Finance, both the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project and the National Highway 50 expansion project are currently being accelerated. The complete investment in this intersection is considered urgent to ensure synchronous connection and promote the efficiency of the entire route.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance affirmed that the project has fully met the legal regulations under the Law on Public Investment, and is also in line with the medium-term public investment capital allocation plan for the period 2026 - 2030.

In addition to the National Highway 50 intersection, Ho Chi Minh City is also studying investment in the intersection between Rung Sac Road (Can Gio District) and Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway. The total investment capital of this intersection is expected to be about 2,400 billion VND.

Rung Sac Road is currently the only route connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City with Can Gio District as well as neighboring areas in Dong Nai Province. However, the transportation system here still has many limitations, especially the great dependence on waterways.

Therefore, the construction of the intersection with the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is expected to open a new connection direction, helping Can Gio develop tourism and ecological urban areas more strongly.

It is expected that the investment policy will be approved in the second quarter of 2025, the project will start construction in 2026 and be completed in 2027.

The third intersection connecting to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway will be built in the Nguyen Van Tao Street area (Binh Chanh District).

This intersection and Nguyen Van Linh intersection are part of component project 3 of the North-South axis road upgrade project (Nguyen Huu Tho Street). The total investment capital for these two intersections is about VND 2,441 billion, using the Ho Chi Minh City budget.

The project is planned to start construction at the end of 2025 and will be completed synchronously with the entire North-South axis road project in 2028.

When put into use, this vital route, in addition to connecting with the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, also promotes the connection of Hiep Phuoc Port Urban Area with key industrial parks of Ho Chi Minh City and Long An.
