From the morning of May 21, the pilgrimage of Buddha Shakyamuni was carried from Tam Chuc Pagoda to Bai Dinh Pagoda to serve the worship needs of many Buddhists and people.
Continuing the sacred journey in Vietnam, the performances of Buddha will be honored at Bai Dinh Pagoda from 8:00 a.m. on May 21 to 10:00 a.m. on May 22.
A representative of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Ninh Binh province said that according to the wishes of the majority of people and Buddhists nationwide, based on Official Dispatch No. 405 of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions - Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Bai Dinh Pagoda (Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province) has been chosen as the next location to honor the benefactor of Buddha Shakyamuni.
This is the fifth stop in the journey to honor and benefit Buddha Shakyamuni in Vietnam, after Thanh Tam Pagoda (HCMC), Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh), Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi) and Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam).
At each location, tens of thousands of people and Buddhists have flocked, respectfully worshiping the sacred treasure, the most sacred symbol of Buddhism.
The fact that Bai Dinh Pagoda - the most famous pagoda in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, was chosen as the next point to honor the Buddha's merits is not only suitable in spirituality, space and architecture, but also shows the desire to spread the spiritual and cultural values of Buddhism widely in the community.
Previously, the Indian Embassy in Vietnam announced that the Indian Government agreed to extend the time for displaying Buddha's benefits in Vietnam after May 21.
The extension and addition of honorific points such as Bai Dinh Pagoda shows the great efforts of the two governments of Vietnam - India and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in creating conditions for people to access and enjoy the festival - a sacred symbol associated with faith, peace and enlightenment in Buddhism.
