In the afternoon of March 23, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam Center) coordinated to organize emergency care, bringing 2 seriously ill passengers from a foreign tourist ship ashore safely for timely treatment.
Previously, the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region III (Center III, in Ho Chi Minh City) received information from the Pacific World cruise ship (Panama nationality) en route from Singapore to Taiwan (China) notifying and requesting support for a passenger on board who was in critical health condition. According to received information, Mr. T. A (84 years old, Japanese nationality) showed signs of severe respiratory failure, diagnosed with severe pneumonia, progressing rapidly, requiring endotracheal intubation and maintaining mechanical ventilation.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center urgently coordinated with agencies and units to deploy a rescue plan, dispatching specialized vessel SAR 272 on duty in Ho Chi Minh City with a team of doctors to urgently deploy rescue at sea.

At about 10:45 am on March 23, Pacific World ship continued to announce that there was another passenger on board, Ms. H.M (79 years old, Japanese nationality) also showing symptoms of shortness of breath, requesting support to bring her ashore for treatment.
At about 12:20 pm on the same day, SAR 272 ship approached Pacific World ship, quickly performed first aid, transferred 2 patients to SAR 272 ship and moved ashore. During the journey, the medical team maintained active resuscitation measures, closely monitoring the patient's condition. At 3:20 pm, SAR 272 ship safely docked at Center III port, and handed over to functional agencies according to regulations, to transfer to medical facilities for further in-depth treatment.
