At 10:47 PM on June 17, Tran Island Border Guard Station, Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command received a report about fishing vessel TH-91220-TS captained by Mr. Bui Van Phu encountering an accident in the waters of Tran Island, Co To Special Zone.
Immediately after receiving the news, the unit deployed 1 motorboat and 6 officers and soldiers to maneuver to the area where the ship encountered an accident.
At about 11 pm on the same day, rescue forces approached the area where ship TH-91220-TS sank and successfully rescued 9 crew members, bringing them to Vung Tay port, Tran island safely.
The crew members all reside in Thanh Hoa province.
After being brought ashore, Tran Island Border Guard Station coordinated with Tran Island Battalion, Brigade 242, Military Region 3 to conduct initial medical checks for the crew members.

Through inspection, the health of the crew members is normal, and their spirit is stable.
According to initial information from the captain, at the time of the accident, the sea area had big waves and strong winds, causing the ship to hit a rocky islet, leading to the ship sinking.
