Memories of the flamboyant era revived in digital space

Nghe An - Memories of more than 112,000 historical witnesses are recorded, digitized and spread in many forms in the digital space.

On the morning of July 26, in Nghe An province, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organized a preliminary conference on the Project "The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union participates in preserving and propagating historical stories", the theme "Stories of the Flaming Flames".

The conference is organized in a direct combined online form, with the main bridge point in Nghe An, connecting provincial and city youth unions and affiliated youth unions nationwide.

The project "The Story of the Flaming Season" was launched by the Central Youth Union on July 27, 2025, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

The project aims to preserve and promote the memories and stories of historical witnesses, contributing to educating revolutionary traditions, patriotism, national pride and responsibility of the young generation.

According to the Central Committee of the Youth Union, the whole country currently has more than 9.2 million people with meritorious services and relatives of people with meritorious services. Many historical witnesses are old and their health has declined, while many images, letters, diaries, memorabilia and wartime documents are facing the risk of being damaged, lost or fading away.

Through direct meetings, listening, recording, audio recording, video recording and digitizing narration, union members and young people access history through true stories, specific people and vivid memories.

After a year of implementation, the Project's data receiving system has recorded more than 712,000 stories from more than 112,000 historical witnesses.

Many stories are recorded, recorded, recorded and digitized for the first time. Many images, letters, diaries, memorabilia and valuable documents are also collected, restored and added to the historical data warehouse in the digital environment.

The content of the stories reflects many stages and historical events of the nation; memories of revolutionary activists, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, veterans, former youth volunteers, relatives of martyrs and people with meritorious services.

Through each story are stories about the battlefield, rear, comradeship, patriotism, fighting spirit and sacrifice of previous generations.

Stories are transformed into many products such as articles, videos, reports, podcasts, infographics, short films, exhibitions, books, news bulletins with QR codes and content of Youth Union, Association, Team activities.

The data warehouse initially formed a large-scale digital historical document source, serving propaganda, education, research, journalism, publishing and learning material development.

The highlight of the conference is the exchange program between historical witnesses and young people who are directly participating in preserving, restoring and spreading memories.

At the program, witnesses shared memories of the war, the sacrifices of comrades and the value of peace and independence today.

Young people also recounted the process of meeting witnesses, collecting documents, creating journalistic works and applying technology to restore martyrs' photos, digitize, and spread historical stories.

At the conference, delegates also exchanged experiences in promoting the value of red addresses, building a digital memory ecosystem, standardizing data, applying artificial intelligence and controlling content quality.

On this occasion, the Secretariat of the Central Youth Union awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives with outstanding achievements in implementing the Project, including the Hung Yen, Vinh Long, Ninh Binh, Gia Lai, Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Unions and Thanh Nien Newspaper.
