In early June, Quang Ngai people suffered the most severe heat wave since the beginning of 2025. To "relieve the heat", from about 16 to 18 hours a day, thousands of people and tourists flock to the beaches, especially My Khe beach - the most attractive and crowded destination in the province.
However, the increasing number of people pouring in has led to an increased risk of drowning accidents. Faced with this situation, My Khe Beach Management Team has worked at full capacity, contributing to completely preventing tragic accidents, creating a safe, friendly and professional marine environment.

On June 4, sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Pham Hoang An - Deputy Head of My Khe Beach Management Team said: Realizing the importance of protecting the safety of people and tourists, from January 1, 2024, My Khe Beach Management Team (under the Quang Ngai City Urban Order Management Team) was officially established. Since then, we have promptly saved more than 42 cases of drowning and being swept away from shore. Fortunately, there have been no deaths since the Group began operating.
Currently, the Management Team has 14 members, of which 7 are specialized rescue and relief forces, always on duty in key areas - especially locations with strong currents, with the potential risk of high drowning.
Mr. An added: My Khe beach is the busiest beach in the province. In the hot season, the peak is early morning and late afternoon. We are present from 4:30 to 8am and from 3pm to 8:30pm every day. Rescue forces are flexibly deployed, combined with monitoring using a modern camera system, ensuring quick and effective detection and rescue."
In order to improve the efficiency of rescue work, the Quang Ngai City government also promotes investment in equipment for the rescue team. Mr. Phan Cao Lam - Head of the Urban Order Management Team of Quang Ngai City - said: "Since the management team of My Khe Beach has been put into operation, the beach has become safer and more friendly in the eyes of the people and tourists. We have invested more modern rescue equipment, install the buoy system that clearly defines the safe swimming area. This helps warn and minimize the risk of swimming swimming over the limit.
In the context of tourism gradually recovering and fierce competition between localities, My Khe with its new appearance - where people and tourists can feel secure playing and relaxing under the close protection of professional rescue forces - will certainly be a "bright spot" on the Central tourism map.
