Nearly 1,000 workers go to work abroad
On August 31, information from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Dak Lak province said that since the beginning of the year, the authorities have coordinated with relevant units to send nearly 1,000 workers to work abroad for a limited period of time, reaching 58.9% of the yearly plan.
Having a relative who went to work abroad, Mr. Tran Quang Manh (Cu M'Gar district, Dak Lak province) said, I have a child who went to work abroad in the Japanese market. Every month, he still sends money back to support his parents in Vietnam.
"My nephew said that working in Japan has a stable salary, and if you work overtime, you get extra bonuses. Meals provided by the company are nutritious, the working environment is harmonious, and there are few disputes..." - Mr. Manh shared.
In early August 2024, Dak Lak Employment Service Center coordinated with a business located in Hanoi to organize interviews and test the skills of workers going to work for a limited period in the Algerian market. This time, Dak Lak province has 9 workers who want to go to the Algerian market to work in the construction industry for a limited period.
The leader of the Dak Lak Provincial Employment Service Center said that the province has paid attention to sending workers to work abroad and achieved remarkable results.
From there, workers increase their income, stabilize their lives, and contribute to the effective implementation of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
Sustainable poverty reduction channel
Currently, labor export is still a sustainable way out of poverty for many workers, especially ethnic minority workers in remote areas of the province.
In the period of 2024 - 2026, Dak Lak province strives to send 7,500 workers to work abroad under contracts. Thereby, contributing to solving employment for the province's workforce, especially young people, demobilized soldiers, students, graduates of universities, vocational training institutions... Workers will have stable jobs, move towards sustainable jobs, increase income, and stabilize their lives.
Ms. Tran Thi Minh Ly - Head of the Department of Labor, Employment and Vocational Education (Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of Dak Lak province) informed that in the coming time, the locality will continue to train and develop human resources in a specialized and modern direction to meet the requirements of the labor market, associated with the orientation and economic development needs of the province.
The authorities will increase recruitment of key occupations, occupations transferred from Australia, and occupations that have received foreign investment; closely link vocational training with job creation to meet social and business needs, and labor export to ensure that workers find stable jobs.
"Localities in the province will promote extensive propaganda on vocational education. In particular, focusing on unique images, diversifying forms, improving scale and quality; especially for propaganda work on streaming and vocational education orientation to sow seeds, build and spread the movement "Vocational education is the path to creating a prerequisite career" among young people", Ms. Ly added.
