Prolonged heavy rain in recent days has caused landslides on many roads in Lai Chau province.
Functional forces are urgently overcoming the incident, ensuring safety for people and vehicles in traffic.
On the evening of July 9, information from Lai Chau Provincial Police said that at Km15+500 on National Highway 279D, the section passing through On village, Khoen On commune, a landslide occurred.
Immediately after the incident occurred, functional forces were present at the scene to deploy handling and remedial measures.

According to the Vietnam Road Administration, prolonged heavy rain from July 5 to the afternoon of July 9 caused landslides on many national highways and local roads in Dien Bien and Lai Chau provinces, affecting traffic.
Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the Vietnam Road Administration directed Road Management Zone I and road management units to mobilize manpower and machinery to urgently collect soil, rocks, and trees overflowing the road surface.
At the same time, coordinate with local authorities to implement response solutions, overcome consequences, and ensure safe traffic.
In Lai Chau, landslide points were recorded on National Highway 32 and Provincial Road 128. Among them, the landslide point at Km339+070 on National Highway 32 has been repaired, and vehicles can resume traffic.
For provincial road 128, the landslide point at Km17+200 has been handled, ensuring traffic.
Regarding the two locations of negative taluy landslides at Km9+330 and Km9+450, functional forces have placed warning signs and guided vehicles to circulate safely while waiting for thorough handling.
