At the direct and online conference with localities summarizing the implementation of financial, budget, and investment sector tasks in 2025; deploying tasks for 2026 chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the afternoon of January 6, leaders of Lam Dong province reported and proposed to the Ministry of Finance and the Government to include in the planning of the Gia Nghia - Bao Loc - Phan Thiet connecting road.

According to Mr. Ho Van Muoi, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the locality has many development opportunities in fields such as mineral exploitation, industry, green energy, high-tech agriculture and resort tourism.
Lam Dong also plays an important role in the overall development of the country.
Over the past time, the province has focused on implementing many key tasks such as investing in transport infrastructure, irrigation infrastructure, removing difficulties for backlog projects and accelerating the issuance of investment policies.

However, in 2025, GRDP growth of Lam Dong province reached 6.42%, not meeting the Prime Minister's expectations.
To create room for "two-digit" growth in 2026, provincial leaders proposed that the Ministry of Finance and the Government create conditions to include the East-West axis road in the planning, connecting 3 core areas of the province including Gia Nghia - Bao Loc - Phan Thiet.
According to the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, this is a decisive project, contributing to connecting agricultural and seafood trade, serving the transportation and exploitation of minerals in the province as well as neighboring areas.

When deployed and put into use, the road will create motivation to promote socio-economic development, and improve the GRDP growth rate of the locality.
From mid-2025, Lam Dong province was formed on the basis of merging three provinces Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong, becoming the province with the largest area in the country with more than 24,000km2 and a population of nearly 3.9 million people.
With a large area and diverse terrain, connecting transport infrastructure is always an issue of particular concern to the provincial leaders.
In the period 2026 - 2030, Lam Dong province sets a goal of rapid and sustainable economic growth, focusing on investing in the construction of key infrastructure projects.
In which, the province accelerates the progress of projects such as the North-South high-speed railway line; Dau Giay - Lien Khuong expressway (Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong sections); Nha Trang - Lien Khuong expressway; Gia Nghia - Phan Thiet expressway; North-South expressway in the West (Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section); renovating and upgrading National Highways 27, 28, 55 and Gia Nghia - Bao Lam powertrain.
