Putting Long Thanh Airport phase 1 into commercial operation in the first half of 2026

The Long Thanh Airport Project is a nationally important project, approved for investment policy by the National Assembly in Resolution No. 94/2015/QH13 dated June 25, 2015, with a capacity scale of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year.
The project is divided into 3 investment phases. In which, phase 1 is invested in construction with a passenger terminal with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year, according to the 4F standard, the highest level of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
Vietnam Airports Corporation is the unit assigned to be the investor of component project 3, including essential works in the airport. The project officially started construction in early 2021.
By December 19, 2025, Long Thanh Airport phase 1 has inaugurated the works and welcomed the first flight to land.
According to the plan, in the first half of 2026, Long Thanh Airport phase 1 will be put into commercial operation.
Complete the entire Ring Road IV parallel road in the second quarter of 2026

Another project expected is the Ring Road 4 project in Hanoi Capital Region. The project was approved by the National Assembly in 2022, with a length of 112.8 km, passing through Hanoi (58.2 km), Hung Yen (19.3 km), Bac Ninh (25.6 km). Preliminary total investment is 85,813 billion VND.
The project is implemented according to 7 component projects, operating independently, with the People's Committees of three provinces and cities including Hanoi, Hung Yen and Bac Ninh assigned to be the managing agency.
Regarding progress, the National Assembly's Resolution clearly states that the preparation for investment and project implementation starts from 2022, basically completed in 2026, and put into operation from 2027.
According to information from the Hanoi People's Committee, the Ring Road 4 project in the Capital region, the section passing through the city, passes through 17 wards and communes, with a total recovered land area of 800.15 hectares and 9,039 graves to be moved.
To date, wards and communes have completed the construction of 13 out of 13 resettlement areas, completed land acquisition, site clearance, tomb relocation and underground and above-ground works, ensuring project progress.
Regarding the construction progress of the parallel road in Hanoi city, to date, about 35 out of 53 km of asphalt concrete has been constructed. The output value reached about 3,575 out of 4,205 billion VND, equivalent to about 85%, striving to basically complete the entire parallel road in the second quarter of 2026.
Construction of the North-South high-speed railway project is expected to start at the end of 2026

The North-South high-speed railway project was approved by the National Assembly for investment policy from November 2024. The project has a total route length of about 1,541 km, starting at Ngoc Hoi station, Hanoi Capital, ending at Thu Thiem station, Ho Chi Minh City.
The National Assembly decided to invest in the entire new 1,435 mm double-track road, with a design speed of 350 km per hour, a load capacity of 22.5 tons on the axis. The project includes 23 passenger stations and 5 freight stations. High-speed railways mainly transport passengers, meeting dual-use requirements for national defense and security, and can transport goods when necessary.
Regarding technology, the project applies railway technology running on rails, electrification, ensuring modernity, synchronization, safety and efficiency.
The North-South high-speed railway project has a total investment of more than 1,713 million billion VND, equivalent to more than 67 billion US dollars.
The National Assembly decided to prepare a feasibility study report from 2025, striving to basically complete the project by 2035.
Recently, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh requested units under the Ministry to urgently complete reports on specific mechanisms, investment methods and investor selection criteria, in order to ensure the commencement of high-speed railway projects by the end of 2026.
