50 years of development change
April 3, 1975 marked a historic milestone, ending 21 years of arduous resistance war against the invaders and completely liberating Lam Dong - Da Lat.
This victory contributed significantly to the success of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, creating the Great Spring Victory of 1975.
Having been attached to Lam Dong for more than 30 years, Mr. Tran Quang Thanh (residing in Da Lat city) shared: "During my time from Thua Thien - Hue (now Hue City) to settle down, this place had an ideal climate but infrastructure and tourism services were limited. The locality has not developed commensurate with its inherent potential".
According to Mr. Thanh, after 30 years, Da Lat has made a strong transformation, becoming one of the leading resort cities in Vietnam with a system of high-end hotels and resorts.
Da Lat city is also a leader in high-tech agriculture, exporting many quality agricultural products to demanding markets.
In particular, Da Lat is famous for the leading production of vegetables and gentle flowers in the country and a pioneer in high-tech agriculture and sustainable development.
According to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, in 2024, the total provincial budget revenue will reach VND 13,175.3 billion (reaching 93.1% of the estimate). Infrastructure and transportation are constantly being invested in, and people's average income has improved significantly.
Tourism - services continue to be a bright spot in the province with an estimated revenue of VND 25,762 billion (up 6.24% over the previous year). In particular, Da Lat city has been recognized twice as an "ASEAN Clean Tourism City" and is one of the most romantic destinations in Asia...
Educating the revolutionary tradition for the younger generation
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee will organize a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lam Dong - Da Lat Liberation (April 3, 1975 - April 3, 2025), towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The highlight of the event was the grand art program with the theme "Nam Tay Nguyen vui thang an doan" , elaborately staged with the participation of many famous artists.
The celebration will take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 3, 2025 at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat City. Mr. Tran Thanh Hoai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, said that the celebration is an opportunity to introduce to people and domestic and foreign tourists the outstanding achievements of Lam Dong over the past 50 years.
Since the liberation day, the Party Committee, government and people of Lam Dong province have unanimously overcome many difficulties and achieved proud achievements.
"This is also an opportunity to propagate and educate the younger generation about love for the homeland and appreciate the achievements of the previous generation. Thereby adding motivation for today's and future generations to strive to contribute to the development of the province", Mr. Hoai emphasized.
