On July 8, at the Fourth Session of the 18th Lang Son Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031, delegates focused on assessing the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of the year and considering key tasks and solutions in the coming time.
According to the report at the meeting, this is the first year that Lang Son has completed and exceeded the state budget revenue estimate in the first half of the year. Total revenue reached more than 15,080 billion VND, equal to 112.8% of the central budget estimate and 111.9% of the provincial budget estimate.
The growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the province is estimated at 7.02%. In which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 4.82%; industry and construction increased by 8.24%; services increased by 7.42%. The scale of GRDP at current prices reached nearly 29,000 billion VND.

The border gate economy continues to play a driving force for growth. Total import and export turnover of goods through the area reached more than 57.69 billion USD, an increase of 42% compared to the same period. Customs clearance activities are maintained stably, with an average capacity of about 1,600-1,700 vehicles per day.
Besides the achieved results, provincial leaders recognize that GRDP growth is still lower than the proposed scenario. Some key projects and investment projects in the form of public-private partnerships are implemented slowly; site clearance and procedures related to land and construction still have many obstacles.
Speaking to direct at the meeting, Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh requested the Provincial People's Committee to review each target, field and project, and develop specific solutions to promote growth in the last months of the year.
The province is required to accelerate the progress of public investment, remove difficulties in site clearance, investment procedures and material sources; strictly handle investors and units that are irresponsible and slow down progress. Outstanding and prolonged projects must be resolved thoroughly, projects that are no longer viable need to be resolutely recovered.
At the session, the Provincial People's Council is expected to consider and approve 19 draft resolutions related to socio-economic development, budget, public investment, housing, education, sports and justice.
