According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper on January 28 (ie the 29th day of Lunar New Year), when the moment of transition between the old year and the new year is approaching, the villagers have also finished cooking the traditional banh chung of the Tay ethnic group.
In the small space of the last day of the year, the atmosphere of Lang Nu village after the storm and flood became more bustling and warm than ever.
For the people here, the newly handed over spacious stilt houses will be the place where they can start over and rise up strongly after adversity.
Mr. Nguyen Van Trai (Lang Nu village) shared: “The atmosphere of Tet this year is not like previous years, because everyone has just suffered a great loss. But we often encourage each other to try to lift our spirits and start over. This is the most special Tet in our lives when we are in a new house.”
According to Mr. Trai, these days, people have started many activities of cleaning their houses and shopping for things to prepare for Lunar New Year.
Mr. Hoang Van Vo also said: “Thanks to the support of the authorities and benefactors, this year we have a new house to celebrate the traditional New Year. I live alone at home so the traditional New Year is simple. Hopefully in the new year, people will focus on building Lang Nu village to be greener, cleaner and more beautiful.”
Many people of Lang Nu hope that in the coming new year 2025, people will make efforts to rebuild the village to be more and more prosperous.
According to records, at night in the Lang Nu resettlement area, although there is no longer the hustle and bustle of the day, the place still echoes with the sounds of people chatting and cleaning up at the end of the year.
This place exudes the beauty of peace and serenity. There are no noisy car horns, Lang Nu only has bright lights and the sound of gentle wind blowing.
Despite many difficulties and losses, Lang Nu still retains the pristine beauty and steadfast spirit of the highland people.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Xu - Secretary of Lang Nu village said: "These days, many households in the village are wrapping banh chung to create a joyful atmosphere. Along with that, people are also cleaning and decorating their houses to welcome Tet warmly and happily. All households in the village encourage each other to overcome the pain of the old year to start over in the new year."
