Thousands of vehicles flock to border gates during the holiday
On May 5, informing reporters, Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone, said that from 10:00 a.m. on May 3, all vehicles carrying goods waiting to be exported through Huu Nghi International Border Gate must move to Viettel Logistics Park to stop and park, instead of continuing to queue on National Highway 1A.
This is a plan announced by this unit to relieve traffic pressure, after many days of congestion at the border gate and the road leading to the border, seriously affecting traffic safety and environmental sanitation.
According to a report by the functional sector of Lang Son province, during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the number of vehicles transporting import and export goods through border gates in the area increased dramatically.

Statistics show that in just 5 days of the holiday, nearly 9,000 vehicles carrying tens of thousands of tons of goods crossed the border.
At Huu Nghi International Border Gate, about 1,900 vehicles are cleared every day, of which 2/3 are vehicles importing machinery, equipment and consumer goods to Vietnam.
At the same time, due to many localities in the Central and Southern regions entering the agricultural harvest season, the number of trucks carrying fruits and vegetables poured onto border gates increased sharply, causing the congestion to become increasingly serious.
Recorded on National Highway 1A from Thuy Hung Commune (Cao Loc District) to the border gate, hundreds of container trucks lined up, occupying most of the road surface.
Although the authorities have organized traffic diversion, the situation of vehicles stopping for a long time still occurs, posing a potential risk of accidents and causing environmental pollution.

Mr. Le Van Cuong - a driver transporting dragon fruit from Binh Thuan - shared: "I arrived at 10am last night, and have not been able to enter the border gate area until this morning. Sleeping all night in the cabin, no toilet, no water, very inconvenient
Another driver, Mr. Nguyen Van Hau (from Nghe An), said: "It's sunny, there are many cars, jostling each other every meter. If there is a plan to bring the car to the logistics area to wait, I will support it very much. Having a decent place to stay is precious.
Regulating vehicles entering Viettel Logistics Park
Faced with the huge pressure of vehicles, relevant units including the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Guard Economic Zone, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Traffic Police Department - Provincial Police and Viettel Logistics Park have agreed to regulate all vehicles carrying goods waiting for export to the gathering area in Phu Xa and Thuy Hung communes, Cao Loc district.
Here, vehicles will be instructed to arrange and divert water flow appropriately before moving to the border gate to complete procedures. Each vehicle will be charged a fee of VND 30,000/day to cover electricity, water and environmental sanitation costs in the parking area.

The Border Gate Management Center also requested functional forces such as Huu Nghi International Border Gate Border Guard Station, Traffic Police Department and related units to arrange forces to coordinate in ensuring order, regulating traffic and supporting export enterprises.
"This regulation will be implemented until the traffic flow at the border gate is stable and there is no longer a situation of vehicles having to queue up on National Highway 1A" - leader of the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone.
