The information was stated at the meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Phenomena today (March 17).
At the meeting, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission presented a draft report on the results of the first quarter and key tasks for the second quarter of 2026; report on the progress of handling and resolving cases, incidents, and slow-progress projects under monitoring and direction; the results of implementing the recommendations of Inspection Team No. 06 of the Central Steering Committee; and at the same time proposed to remove some cases from the monitoring and direction area.
According to the report, in the first three months of the year, the Steering Committee advised the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to lead and direct Party committees, authorities, agencies, and units to concretize the guiding contents of the Central Government and the province on the work of preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.
At the same time, propaganda and dissemination of laws continue to be emphasized; preventive measures are implemented synchronously.
Functional agencies also strengthen inspection, examination, struggle, detection and handling of violations.
In the first quarter, a number of corruption and negativity cases of public concern were prosecuted, with a total of 11 cases and 19 defendants.
Members of the Steering Committee have proactively developed personal work plans for 2026, advised and proposed to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee on contents related to the assigned fields to monitor and be in charge.
Concluding the meeting, the Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee requested Party committees, Party organizations, agencies, and units at all levels to continue to thoroughly grasp and fully implement the guidelines, resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity; strictly implement the Conclusion of the 29th Meeting of the Central Steering Committee.
Provincial leaders also requested to link the task of preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity with the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress, the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress and the 2026 work plan of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.
Propaganda work must be carried out with focus, close to the area, agency, and unit; at the same time, build a culture of integrity, promptly rectify the situation of shirking, avoidance, and fear of responsibility among a part of cadres and civil servants.
The Provincial Party Secretary also proposed to strengthen power control, publicity, transparency, accountability; promote inspection, examination, and supervision in sensitive areas prone to corruption and negativity.
Along with that, urgently review and handle redundant public assets after arranging the organizational structure; focus on resolving slow-progressing, prolonged projects and works with risk of loss and waste; accelerate the investigation, prosecution, and trial of cases under monitoring and direction.
