Lang Son Provincial People's Committee established a working group to coordinate the implementation of the Mau Son eco-tourism and cable car complex project to remove legal obstacles, clear ground and accelerate the progress of this key project.
According to the decision, the working group is headed by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Thanh Son. The Director of the Department of Finance is the standing deputy head, and the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is the deputy head.
Members include leaders of many departments, branches, and units of the province, People's Committees of Mau Son and Loc Binh communes, and representatives of the investor, Mau Son Sun Co., Ltd.
The working group has the task of monitoring the project implementation situation; directing, inspecting, and urging agencies and localities to implement procedures related to investment, construction, land, environment, forestry, and site clearance; promptly handle or propose handling arising difficulties to ensure progress and quality of works.
This agency is also assigned to focus on removing legal procedures such as adjusting investment policies, land allocation, land lease, land use purpose conversion, planning, construction permits and environmental and forestry procedures.
The province requests to clearly define the responsibilities of each agency and unit, avoiding the situation of shirking and prolonging the processing time of dossiers.
Another key task is to direct compensation and site clearance work.
The working group must develop detailed plans for each area, promote propaganda and mobilization of people, properly implement compensation, support, and resettlement policies, and closely coordinate between local authorities and investors in handling problems.
The Mau Son eco-tourism and cable car complex project has a total investment of more than 7,352 billion VND, with a land use area of over 692 hectares, started in May 2022.
According to the plan, a Sun World entertainment complex will be formed on the top of the mountain with three subdivisions including Snow Castle, Fog Village and Lava City.
At the foot of the mountain, it is expected to develop green parks, walking paths, theaters, central lotus ponds, shopping complexes and synchronous service systems.
However, the project implementation process once encountered problems related to site clearance and legal procedures, causing progress to be slower than planned.
After the working session between Lang Son provincial leaders and investors in early February 2026, departments and agencies are assigned to urgently review the route direction, conduct field surveys, and complete procedures so that the project can be restarted in April 2026, prioritizing the deployment of the cable car route.
According to the decision, the Department of Finance is the standing agency of the working group, responsible for advising and assigning tasks to each member, monitoring, urging and summarizing periodic or unscheduled reports. The working group operates in the form of concurrent duties and self-dissolves after completing tasks.
