On August 31, according to a report by the People's Committee of Lang Son province, floods caused by storm No. 4 caused heavy damage in the province, killing 1 person. The whole province had 11 houses collapsed, two houses had their roofs blown off and 812 houses were affected by landslides, fallen trees or lightning strikes. More than 3,588 households in deeply flooded areas at risk of flash floods and landslides were evacuated to safe places.
That Khe is the locality with the most relocation with 1,250 households, followed by Van Nham 498 households, Trang Dinh 410 households, Na Sam 248 households and Luong Van Tri 200 households.
Floods have affected more than 4,129 hectares of crops and forestry. Over 200 cattle and more than 6,000 poultry died; many aquaculture ponds and lakes were flooded, banks were broken, and livestock were swept away.
1,354 landslide, flooding or fallen trees locations appeared on the roads, causing localized division. Among them, there were 865 taluy landslide points and 489 flooded locations, fallen trees blocking the road. At least 13 educational institutions and some medical facilities, headquarters and irrigation works were affected.
About 1,300 business households at Gieng Vuong market and Ban Nga market, Ky Lua ward were flooded, goods and facilities were damaged.
The province mobilized about 8,294 people to participate in evacuating people, rescuing and overcoming consequences, including 2,378 officers and soldiers, 1,715 police, 1,080 militia and self-defense forces and local forces.

Lang Son Provincial People's Committee estimates that about 130 billion VND is needed to overcome the consequences. The locality plans to allocate 30 billion VND from the budget, the Disaster Prevention and Control Fund and the Relief Fund; requesting the Central Government to support the remaining 100 billion VND.
Funds will be prioritized for repairing bridges, culverts, embankments, traffic roads, irrigation works and handling landslide points.
The province also requested support for 1,465 lifebuoys of all kinds, 2,930 life jackets, 29 tents and 36 boats and propulsion machines to serve rescue.
