The project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 151B, Chieng Ken - Nam Tha section (Km23 - Km47) was approved for adjustment according to Decision No. 2220/QD-UBND dated June 27, 2025 of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee.
After adjustment, this project has a total investment of 189 billion VND (previously 144 billion VND). The project is invested by the Lao Cai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
According to the reporter's investigation, on December 2, the Lao Cai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board issued a notice inviting bids for Package No. 15: Construction of the section Km41 - Km45, section Km45+300 - Km47 and power line relocation of the entire route.
Package 15 was widely bid online, priced at more than 41 billion VND from revenue contributed from mineral exploitation to invest in transport infrastructure and environmental improvement.
In the coming time, after having the results of contractor selection, the construction unit will deploy package No. 15 in Chieng Ken commune, Lao Cai province.
According to the project documents, the provincial roads have been renovated and upgraded to ensure the standards of a grade V mountainous road with a design speed of 30km/h.
The minimum roadbed width is 6.5m, the road surface width is 6.5m (including the side reinforcement as the road surface structure). In the negative slope sections with traffic safety systems, auxiliary works (piers, Km signboard...) the embankment is designed to be at least 0.5m wide...
Along with that, the package will design intersections, organize traffic at intersections with painted lines, signs, speed bumps, speed bumps... Connecting to ensure safety and smoothness to existing residential roads...
In addition, the package will also construct a water drainage system ngang ngang, ngang and move power lines on the route.
The package implementation period is 360 days (from the effective date of the contract).
The project is invested and built with the goal of serving the mobilization of forces to ensure national defense and security in the new period, combined with socio-economic development in a mountainous area with many difficulties in the old Van Ban district and aiming to connect the localities economically through the provincial road 151B.
