Lao Cai invests 52 billion VND to build a bridge over Nam Dong spillway

Lao Cai - Nam Dong bridge project is expected to end the division of the area during the rainy and flood season.

On August 12, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province said that the province has approved the investment policy for the project to build a reinforced concrete bridge across Nam Dong spillway, on the road from Nghia Lo to Tuc Dan, with a total investment of 52 billion VND from the provincial budget.

The project is managed by the Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 of Lao Cai province, implemented in the 2026-2028 period in Nghia Lo ward.

The project is invested to complete the transportation system, ensure safety for people and vehicles, and end the situation of areas being isolated during the rainy and flood season.

At the same time, the project contributes to improving the exploitation capacity of the existing road, creating conditions to promote socio-economic development in the region.

According to the approved scale, the bridge is permanently built with ordinary reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, about 90 m long and 9 m wide.

The two ends of the bridge are built with access roads about 200 m long, designed according to the standard of level IV mountain roads. The roadbed is 7.5 m wide, the road surface is 5.5 m wide, and the sidewalks on both sides are 1 m each.

The road surface uses cement concrete, along with drainage systems, traffic safety and auxiliary items.

The project belongs to group C, using provincial budget capital. Implementation period from 2026 to 2028.

The Investment and Construction Project Management Board No. 1 of Lao Cai province is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to complete the Feasibility Study Report and submit it to competent authorities for investment decision according to regulations.

Departments, branches and Nghia Lo Ward People's Committee are responsible for coordinating and guiding the project implementation, ensuring that the project is implemented safely, effectively, and in accordance with regulations.
