On September 22, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee informed that the province has just approved the investment policy for the project to renovate, repair, and upgrade Phu Nhuan Level I Aquatic Seed Research and Production Farm in Tang Loong commune.
The project is managed by the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lao Cai province, implemented in the period 2026-2028, aiming to complete the facilities of the farm in a synchronous and modern direction, serving the task of preserving, conserving, researching and producing aquatic seeds.
According to the approved policy, many items at the farm will be repaired, upgraded or rebuilt.
Including working headquarters, fish-laying houses; worker housing, kitchens cum material warehouses; technology houses; permanent houses, public toilets and service and security areas.
The project also builds a new bridge connecting area A and area C, and at the same time renovates and upgrades the aquaculture pond system. Notably, ponds from C1 to C6 will be renovated and merged into one large aquaculture pond.
The entire pond bank system in areas A0-A22, B1-B7 and C1-C6 has also been reinforced to prevent waterlogging and landslides.
The pond bank road surface is hardened to serve management, care, exploitation, and transportation of materials and products after harvest.
Damaged water supply and drainage ditches will be repaired. In addition, the project also renovates and expands gates and fences; builds new protection fences; renovates concrete yards, electrical systems, lighting in the pond area and landscape, and auxiliary items.
According to the investment objectives, the upgrading of facilities not only serves research and production activities of aquatic seeds but also aims to exploit the potential and strengths of Phu Nhuan Level I Aquatic Seed Research and Production Camp to develop into an agricultural tourist destination of Lao Cai province.
The total investment of the project is 19.9 billion VND, from the provincial budget.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to take the lead in completing the project dossier, coordinating with relevant agencies to implement the next steps according to regulations.
The Department of Finance is responsible for advising on balancing and allocating capital to implement the project and monitoring and inspecting the implementation of investment policies, promptly reporting to the Provincial People's Committee if problems arise affecting the goals and efficiency of the project.
Tang Loong Commune People's Committee and relevant departments and branches are responsible for coordinating and guiding the implementation of the project to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance with legal regulations.
