On September 21, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province, the province has approved the project of the Connecting Road from IC18 intersection to Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster.
The project is implemented in Cam Duong ward, belonging to group B, class II traffic works.
The road is about 2.6 km long, the starting point connects to the IC18 intersection branch of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, and the ending point connects to the boundary of Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster.
According to the approval, the route is designed to be newly opened, following the terrain, basically in line with the orientation of related planning projects.
The project is designed according to the scale of urban roads, inter-regional roads, design speed of 60 km/h, cross-section of 4 lanes, roadbed width of 19.5 m.
The road surface is 15 m wide, including 4 lanes, using high-grade A1 road surface structure made of asphalt concrete on gravel-grade foundations. Drainage, protection, traffic safety and road boundary markers are invested synchronously according to the design.
Notably, the project arranges 3 civil underpasses at locations Km0+072.69; Km0+905.07 and Km1+920.
Three people's roads were also restored with a total length of about 1,000 m, a roadbed width of 4 m, and a road surface width of 3 m.
At the starting point of the route, the project designs a roundabout-shaped intersection to connect with the IC18 intersection branch.
The lighting system is arranged at the intersection at the beginning of the route, combining the utilization and relocation of the existing system, supplementing necessary items.
The total investment of the project is 260 billion VND, of which construction costs are more than 162 billion VND; compensation, support and resettlement costs are more than 72 billion VND; project management costs are more than 3.1 billion VND; consulting costs are more than 7.3 billion VND and other costs and provisions.
The project has a implementation period from 2026-2028, the investor is the Lao Cai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.
According to the approved decision, the investment in the road aims to connect the industrial park with Kim Thanh international border gate and Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, serving goods transportation, and at the same time meeting the travel and trade needs of the people.
In the process of implementation, Cam Duong Ward People's Committee is responsible for managing land and construction in the area, handing over the site to the investor and coordinating to review and arrange resettlement according to regulations.
