The complex of stadium and central square of Muong Khuong commune is a place where cultural, sports, festivals and political events of the locality regularly take place.
However, after many years of exploitation, many items of the project have deteriorated and no longer meet the needs of people.
In mid-June, according to reporters' records, many peeling, bumpy locations appeared, with interspersed grass in some areas. Stands, cultural houses and auxiliary works were old, many items were damaged, affecting the organization of cultural, sports and community activities.
Mr. Vang Seo Pao, a resident of Muong Khuong commune, said that the stadium is a familiar place for people whenever the locality organizes sports tournaments, festivals or major events. However, degraded facilities make training, competition as well as organizing mass gathering programs no longer convenient.
I really hope the project will be renovated soon so that people have a more spacious space to practice and play. When there is a new square and stadium, local activities will also be more exciting," Mr. Pao expressed.
According to Muong Khuong Commune People's Committee, the locality is completing dossiers to implement the Project to renovate and upgrade the sports field and central square with a total estimated investment of about 70 billion VND.
The project includes items such as renovating a sports field of about 1.3 hectares; building a two-story multi-purpose gymnasium, a corrugated iron roof gymnasium, a cultural house and a synchronous technical infrastructure system to meet the needs of organizing local cultural and sports activities.
Recently, a delegation from Lao Cai province led by Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee inspected the site and assessed the feasibility of the project.
Through inspection, Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc requested Muong Khuong commune to soon complete legal documents, feasibility study reports and detailed plans to submit to competent authorities for consideration and approval.
At the same time, the project implementation needs to ensure quality and progress, meeting the long-term development requirements of the locality.
When deployed and completed, the stadium and central square complex is expected to create a new face for the central area of Muong Khuong commune, contributing to completing urban infrastructure, creating architectural and landscape highlights.
The project will also better meet the needs of organizing cultural, sports, and community events activities, thereby improving the spiritual life of people and promoting the physical training movement in the area.
