Accordingly, as of the morning of September 11, the whole Yen Bai province had 37 people dead due to landslides, 1 person dead due to flooding, 3 people missing and 17 people injured. There were 22,365 houses damaged. Of which, 21,044 houses were flooded.
In addition, there are hundreds of landslides and flooding on national highways, provincial roads, commune and village roads, causing traffic jams and difficulties in travel.
In Lao Cai, up to now, the whole province has 39 dead, 108 missing and 61 injured.
4,862 houses were flooded, landslides, and floods swept away; 44 communes/83 villages are isolated due to traffic routes.
The flood also caused 16 telecommunication poles and 75 electric poles to break and fall, collapsing a hydroelectric power plant's operating house; 2 cars were swept away.
Immediately after the natural disasters occurred, local authorities promptly mobilized rescue forces to rescue individuals and organize to overcome the consequences. Along with that, the police, military, and border forces sent hundreds of officers, soldiers, vehicles, and rescue equipment to evacuate people from the flooded areas and deploy tasks to respond and overcome the consequences.
