As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 10:00 a.m. on June 7, on Provincial Road 258 to Ba Be Lake, Nam Mau Commune (Ba Be, Bac Kan), a sinkhole appeared near the edge of the road, causing people to feel insecure and worry about the risk of unsafety when traveling.
According to the records, at the scene, the sinkhole was about 60cm wide, more than 1 meter long and nearly 1 meter deep. The bottom is hollowed out, creating a frog jaw hole.
Immediately after receiving the information, the authorities of Ba Be district were present, stretched ropes, put up warning signs and surveyed the scene. At the same time, the sinking area was leveled on the same day.
Mr. Nong Ngoc Duyen - Chairman of Ba Be District People's Committee said that this is the first time the locality has recorded this type of subsidence.

The road where the incident occurred is managed by the District People's Committee. The professional force is coordinating with Nam Mau commune to continue monitoring the road surface.
At the same time, assess the level of danger, find the cause of the subsidence and propose long-term solutions.
While waiting for the conclusion, the Ba Be district government recommends that people and tourists traveling through the area pay attention to warning signs and follow instructions to ensure safety.
Located about 50km from the subsidence site through Ba Be district, in Kim Lu commune (Na Ri), 9 subsidence sites have appeared since the end of March 2025.
Recently, on the evening of May 26, a man riding a motorbike crashed into a fence and fell into a sinkhole on National Highway 3B through Kim Lu commune and then went missing. Currently, the search for victims has not yet had results.
