On June 7, according to a source from Lao Dong Newspaper, in Nam Mau commune (Ba Be, Bac Kan), a sinkhole appeared on Provincial Road 254, near the entrance to Ba Be National Park.
Accordingly, at around 10am the same day, a truck driver traveling through the area suddenly lost his rear wheel.
When he went down to check, this person discovered that the edge of the road had collapsed, creating a deep hole under the road surface.
The opening of the hole is about one meter wide, the bottom is dug up like a frog's jaw, causing insecurity for people and vehicles passing by.
As soon as the information was received, the authorities quickly arrived, stretched ropes to limit the dangerous area and coordinated with specialized agencies to conduct field inspections to determine the cause.

Mr. Ly Van Thanh - a resident living near the scene - said that this route is often frequented by tourists and trucks.
"Looking at it, it seems like a small pot of chicken, but when you look down, the hole is empty and deep. Fortunately, there were no serious accidents, Thanh shared.
Ba Be district has strongly isolated terrain, many limestone mountains and underground caves, with the potential risk of subsidence.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, about 50km from this location, in Kim Lu commune (Na Ri), 9 subsidence locations have appeared since the end of March, affecting the lives of dozens of households.
On May 14, Bac Kan province declared an emergency situation to respond to this situation.
Most recently, on the evening of May 26, a man was suspected of going missing when he fell into a sinkhole on National Highway 3B after colliding with a fence and the search is still unresulted.

Previously, speaking with reporters, Mr. Truong Quang Trong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Kim Lu commune (Na Ri) - said that the search is facing many difficulties due to complex geological structures.
The sinkhole is related to the underground cave system, many layers of limestone and strong water, posing a potential risk of landslides at any time.
The search area has been expanded, mobilizing more specialized equipment and increasing forces.
