On January 24, a boat capsizing occurred on the Dak Ring hydropower reservoir (Nam Giang commune, Da Nang), killing a 13-year-old child.
The accident happened at about 8 am on January 24, Mr. Coor K. (35 years old, residing in Pring village) and his son Coor Thanh T. (13 years old) rowed a boat to fish on the Dak Ring hydropower lake. While moving, the boat suddenly capsized. Mr. K. was lucky to swim ashore, but T. was sunk. After 2 hours of searching, functional forces found the victim's body.

A few days earlier, a similar accident also occurred in Nam Tra My commune, Da Nang. The boat carrying 7 people across the Nuoc Xa River going to work in the fields overturned. 6 people escaped, only Mr. Ho Van D. (30 years old) went missing and died later.
These incidents are a warning bell about waterway safety, especially the use of small boats moving on hydropower reservoirs and rivers and streams in mountainous areas.
