Everyone lives in Ngoi Song village, Cam Nhan commune. On the morning of February 21 (ie, the 5th day of Tet), they invited each other to go by family boat to the old Yen Bai city to wish Tet. In the afternoon, on the way back, the above painful incident happened.
By this morning, the body of an 11-year-old child was found right next to the scene of the shipwreck. We are coordinating with functional units to make efforts to search for the remaining 5 victims," Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long informed.

As one of the people who went to wish Tet to brothers and relatives that day, Mr. Hoang Van Hoa (born 1968, residing in Cam Nhan commune, Lao Cai province) is still anxiously waiting for his loved ones.
Mr. Hoa, as soon as he heard the news, went with the rescue team, all night he stood silently, his eyes red. He said - His family went to the Yen Bai area (old) to visit relatives, in the afternoon some members hired a boat to move when the incident occurred.

At the time of the accident, he did not travel on the same train. When he received the news, he learned that the vehicle had an accident near Lang Can.
The people brought ashore have been identified, the remaining missing people are all relatives of Mr. Hoa including: Two sisters-in-law, one older sister, one younger brother and one younger grandchild.

At the scene, rescue forces said that the first victim's identity in the boat capsizing was found to be H.D. M. (born in 2015, in Lao Cai province).
To date, there are still 5 people missing including: Hoang Van Thuan (born 1983), Hoang Thi Tuyet (born 1966), Trieu Thi Huan (born 1978), Hoang Thi Thanh Thuy (born 2012), Hoang Thi Hoa (born 1970).

Previously, at about 7:15 pm on February 21, at Thac Ba Lake in Bao Ai commune, Lao Cai province, a stone ferry with license plate YB-0919H, carrying stone from Xuan Long to Huong Ly Port, driven by ship driver N.V.T. (born 1984, in Cam Nhan commune, Lao Cai province) collided with a passenger ship with license plate YB-0876H driven by ship driver T.D. N. (born 1995, in Cam Nhan commune, Lao Cai province).
At the time of the incident, there were 22 passengers on board, besides the train driver. At that time, functional forces found 17 people, with stable health.
