The accident occurred at around 4:10 a.m. on December 14 at km 28+900 of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway, passing through Quang Tri ward, Quang Tri province.
At that time, the pickup truck 73C-131.xx was traveling on the highway when it suddenly slipped and lost control in rainy weather conditions, with a slippery road surface. The car then crashed into the side of the road and overturned into the opposite lane.
As a result, the vehicle was severely damaged, the passenger on the vehicle, V.V.C (born in 1983, residing in Le Thuy, the former Quang Binh province, now Quang Tri province) was taken to the emergency room but died.
The Investigation Police Agency was present at the scene, coordinating with functional units to conduct an investigation, direct traffic and verify the specific cause of the incident.
Initially, it was determined that the preliminary cause was due to bad weather and slippery roads, causing drivers to be unable to control their vehicles. Notably, the location of the accident was identified as a potential traffic safety risk point on the Cam Lo - La Son expressway.
