Recently, the Highway Traffic Police Team No. 5 (Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security) has just sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, Vietnam Expressway Service Joint Stock Company and Traffic Construction Management & Investment Company 238, warning of many risks of traffic safety on the Cam Lo - La Son expressway.
According to the traffic police, heavy rain that has lasted for the past few days in the area from Quang Tri to Hue has made travel on this expressway difficult.
Through the survey, some sections of the road surface are slippery, the graying is not guaranteed, there are long lines and cracks, posing a potential risk of vehicle loss, especially in rainy conditions.

The fence system along the route is not yet closed, many locations are open or damaged after floods, making cattle easily penetrate the highway area, especially at night.
Notably, the two rest stops at Km64 and Km77 are still not safe for traffic as there are no access roads, no signs, directional signs and lighting systems. The area of entering and exiting stations still has two lanes running in opposite directions separated by a line, vehicles often turn across this line, posing a potential risk of accidents.
The Highway Traffic Police Team No. 5 requested relevant units to re-evaluate the technical standards of the Cam Lo - La Son route, and urgently overcome the shortcomings to ensure safety for people and vehicles.
Mr. Nguyen Vu Quy - Director of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that the unit has issued a document requesting contractors to fulfill their warranty obligations and repair damage on the route.
Previously, the Road Management Office II.5 also issued a document requesting to repair the damage on the Cam Lo - La Son expressway. According to the direction of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the repair items must be completed before October 20, and the entire route must be reviewed to promptly handle other damaged points, preparing for the handover of the entire construction warranty in December 2025.
The Project Management Board also emphasized that contractors who are slow to implement the warranty will be fully responsible before the law and the Ministry of Construction if traffic accidents occur due to technical errors.
