On the morning of September 2nd, information from the People's Committee of Thanh Sen ward said that the locality has coordinated with the Ha Tinh Fisheries Sub-Department and the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Monitoring to take water and aquatic product samples to determine the cause of mass fish deaths in Bong Son Lake, Thanh Sen ward.
Through inspection of seafood samples, no clinical signs or pathogens of dangerous infectious diseases in seafood have been detected.
Environmental indicators recorded at the time of inspection included salinity 0‰, water temperature about 29°C, dissolved oxygen content 5 mg/l and alkalinity 53.7 mg/l and some other environmental indicators.
According to initial assessments by specialized agencies, fish deaths mainly occur in tilapia and small fish, so it is likely related to fluctuations in water environmental factors.
Currently, the Thanh Sen Ward General Service Center has also coordinated with Ha Tinh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company to salvage, collect and destroy dead fish in accordance with regulations to ensure the environment.
Previously, on August 31, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected on the mass fish deaths at Bong Son Lake (also known as the Central Park regulating lake). Dead fish floated a dense layer along the lake, emitting a foul odor, affecting the environment.
