Dak Lak - The 9th Coffee Festival will have many important meanings in the context that many local businesses are facing many difficulties.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Ha - Permanent Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - said: "The province is urgently completing the organization of the 9th Coffee Festival. This is a particularly important event for the locality".

According to Mr. Ha, the festival is an opportunity to review the traditions of the coffee industry, to remember the previous generations who created and maintained the coffee growing profession. This is also an opportunity to promote culture, tourism, and attract international investors and friends to the locality.

Building on previous events, in 2025, the province will focus on promoting communication and creating an impression with outstanding events that are typical of the Central Highlands region.

This move aims to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists to visit, thereby creating a source of income for businesses in the accommodation, tourism and transportation service industries.

"This is also a way to help businesses in the province increase revenue and improve production and business activities after a period of being affected by the economic recession," Mr. Ha emphasized.

Ms. Vu Thi Hoai Thi - Director of Dakruco Hotel (Buon Ma Thuot city) - shared: "In 2024, the unit faced many difficulties and challenges. The number of guests has not reached the desired level due to many objective reasons. However, we still decided to keep the listed room rates, improve service quality, and upgrade infrastructure".

According to Ms. Thi, during the upcoming Lunar New Year and Coffee Festival, the hotel will continue to implement many incentive and after-sales programs for tourists. Among them, it is committed to not increasing surcharges for holidays and Tet. The entire hotel has nearly 150 rooms.

Statistics from the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee show that in 2024, the whole province had 970 dissolved or temporarily suspended enterprises (an increase of 18% compared to 2023). The number of workers applying for unemployment benefits increased compared to previous years.

The 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, with the theme “Buon Ma Thuot - Destination of world coffee,” will take place from March 9 to March 13 in Buon Ma Thuot City and several localities in the province.

The event celebrates the 50th anniversary of Buon Ma Thuot Victory, the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 - March 10, 2025), and at the same time promotes the Buon Ma Thuot coffee brand, aiming to build the image of "Coffee City of the World."

The festival includes main activities such as opening, closing ceremony, street festival, international trade conference connecting and elevating Vietnamese coffee.

New highlights include a digital content creation contest to promote the festival, a coffee camp "Accompanying and Sharing" at the CADA Plantation Historical and Cultural Relic (Krong Pac District) and a coffee roasting contest.
