Dak Nong – Prolonged drought has caused severe damage to coffee growing areas in the province, reducing output by about 15,000 tons.

According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Nong province, there are about 143,000 hectares of coffee in the province. Of which, the harvested area is more than 131,000 hectares.

This is one of the main crops, bringing stable income to the people. Currently, the whole Dak Nong province has about 70,000 households cultivating coffee. Coffee in Dak Nong province is distributed in many areas such as: Dak Mil, Krong No, Tuy Duc, Dak Song...

Last dry season, the province experienced a prolonged drought, causing crops to lack irrigation water, affecting productivity and growth.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Nong province, the whole province has about 12,000 hectares of crops, including both long-term and short-term crops, affected by drought. Of which, the majority of the affected area is coffee.

In 2024, Dak Nong's coffee productivity and output will decrease slightly compared to the previous year. The average coffee yield in the whole province is estimated at more than 2.6 quintals/ha, down about 1.51 quintals/ha compared to 2023.

Total output is estimated at about 350,000 tons, a decrease of about 15,000 tons compared to 2023. According to the People's Committee of Dak Nong province, the prolonged drought has seriously affected the area and productivity of crops, causing estimated losses of up to 430 billion VND.
