On the morning of June 22, along with 3 rental housing projects in Viet Hung ward, Long Bien ward and Phap Van - Tu Hiep urban area, Hanoi officially started construction of 5 new urban railway projects. Urban railway projects are undertaken by the Vinhomes - VinSpeed consortium as EPC general contractor (design, procurement and construction package). Urban railway lines are expected to be completed by 2030.
Regarding information on the preparation for project implementation, the joint venture general contractor said that in the past time, the unit has proactively conducted pre-inspection of routes, and at the same time worked with suppliers to order construction equipment with large volumes.
The consortium has also ordered additional surround wall excavation equipment, added more than 200 bored pile construction lines and increased thousands of vehicles to transport soil for drilling bits.
Currently, Vinhomes - VinSpeed is coordinating with leading consulting units in the world from Europe, Japan, Korea, and China to develop detailed designs, and at the same time cooperate with contractors with capacity and experience in TBM tunnel construction in the world to prepare for construction.
The general contractor consortium has also worked with suppliers of machinery and equipment, trains, operating systems, control, and train safety to prepare for the installation and operation phase.
While Vinhomes is known as a business with financial capacity and experience in deploying investment and construction of large projects, VinSpeed has also affirmed its capacity in the field of high-speed railway development.
VinSpeed is currently the investor of the first 2 high-speed railway projects in Vietnam, the Ben Thanh - Can Gio (HCMC) line with a length of 54 km and the Hanoi - Quang Ninh line with a length of 120 km, with a maximum design speed of up to 350 km/h.
With the internal capacity of the general contractor consortium and a network of reputable partners in the world, 5 new urban railway projects are expected to be completed on schedule, thereby contributing to realizing the goals of developing transport infrastructure, developing urban areas in the direction of TOD and ensuring social security of the Capital.

5 new urban railway projects have been started, including:
Route No. 1 (Hung Vuong Stadium - Railway Industrial Park - Ngoc Hoi - Hanoi station - Yen Vien - Thu Lam multi-purpose urban area - Noi Bai airport. This is the main North-South economic corridor, directly connecting national (express railway) and international (Noi Bai airport) traffic hubs.
Route No. 2 (Noi Bai Airport - Tran Hung Dao - Thuong Dinh - Hung Vuong Stadium). The project plays the role of a symbolic foreign gateway, connecting Noi Bai International Airport with the core of the central economic and cultural heritage, serving high-density international trade needs.
Route No. 8 (Hoa Lac - Son Dong - Mai Dich - Ring Road 3 - Linh Nam - Duong Xa). This is a strategic East-West corridor, the most important link connecting the "core" of Hoa Lac science and technology with dynamic production and logistics centers in the East, promoting strong regional linkages.
Route 10 (Co Loa - Vo Chi Cong - Ring Road 3 - Ring Road 2.5 - Times City - Co Loa). The main role of this route is a smart traffic belt, connecting urban areas and new growth poles, helping to reduce direct pressure on the historical inner-city traffic system.
Route No. 14 (Section from Thang Long Bridge - Hong Ha - Ocean Park). This is a route connecting the western area with the multi-purpose urban areas in the East, creating a chain of modern urban values and improving the availability of the 15-minute urban model.
