Gia Lai - The tornado suddenly swept through Binh Dinh ward in the early morning, blown off the roofs and damaged 11 houses of people.

On November 17, Mr. Le Quoc Cuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Ward (Gia Lai) - confirmed that at around 2am this morning, an unusual tornado appeared in the area, blowing off the roofs and damaging 11 houses of people.

"Currently, the locality is counting the extent of damage in each case to have an appropriate level of support. For houses with partially blown-off roofs, VND2 million/case will be supported; for houses with heavy blown-off roofs (over 60-70%), VND5 million/case will be supported," said Mr. Cuong.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc (78 years old, residing in Binh Dinh ward) recounted that the tornado appeared very quickly with strong winds, causing the roof of her house to be blown off.

"While sleeping, I heard a strong whistle sweeping across the house, the tiles on the porch were completely blown off, and many pieces of tiles on the roof of the living room were also blown away," said Ms. Cuc.

Mr. Do Thanh Danh - Deputy Head of An Hoa Residential Group - said that the tornado blew off the roofs of many houses in the neighborhood, with damage ranging from 10-70%.

"These houses were previously blown away by storm No. 13. After the storm, they have just overcome it, now they are damaged by the tornado. The tornado also damaged the power system, causing a complete power outage; knocking down many trees of the people," Mr. Danh informed.
