On November 17, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Le Tien Manh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Pa commune (Gia Lai province) - said that heavy rain and rising water on the night of November 16 caused the Mo Nang 2 village overflow underground to be flooded.
The water level was more than 1m deep, causing the only road to the village center to be completely cut off, isolating 341 households. This morning, water from upstream continued to flow into the spillway. The commune government has blocked the two ends of the tunnel, put up warning signs and asked people not to cross to ensure safety.

"If the quarantine lasts for 4-5 days, food and provisions will still be guaranteed to be provided to households. This is the only road leading to the village and is often flooded during heavy rains, causing isolation," said Mr. Manh.
Recently, Mo Nang 2 culvert has been flooded many times, isolating the entire village. Local people hope that the project will soon be invested in and upgraded to end the cutting-off situation, creating conditions for economic development.
