On the afternoon of November 29, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province said that Hoai An Forest Protection Department had initiated a case to investigate the case of forest encroachment in blocks 4 and 6, sub-zone 157 (Hoc Moc area, Nghia Dien village, Kim Son commune).
"The subjects took advantage of the time of merging administrative units to commit acts of forest encroachment. I have directed the Hoai An Forest Protection Department to investigate and clarify to handle according to regulations", the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment informed.

The inspection results showed that the total area of illegally exploited forest was 94.84 hectares.
Including: 66.87ha managed by Kim Son Commune People's Committee (cape 6, protective forest). Of which, 18.12 hectares of forest were cut down and cleared; there were traces of sawing and 16.69 hectares of acacia were planted; the remaining 48.75 hectares were afforestation and clearing forests with traces of sawing.
27.87ha managed by the Hoai An Protective Forest Management Board (phase 6), including 3.64ha of natural forest and 24.23ha of acacia plantation forest, were all exploited, burned, and had traces of being cut down by machinery.
0.1ha of natural forest in block 4 managed by a prison unit (production forest) was also cut down and burned; all trees were taken away from the scene.
At the time of inspection, the authorities did not detect any violators at the scene, but recorded that many mountain slopes had been opened with 4-5m wide roads, with an unknown length, suspected to have been created by excavators.
The investigation team determined that the time of illegal exploitation and deforestation in Clause 4 and Clause 6 was from March to June 2025. The area of planted forests that were cut down during this period was an area that was illegally encroached upon and destroyed by people in 2006, 2007, 2008 to plant economic forests.
Initially, the authorities determined that there were more than 30 subjects participating in illegal forest exploitation. Taking advantage of the time before the administrative unit was merged, the subjects organized the exploitation of planted forests and encroached, cutting down even natural forest trees.
