Long An approves investment policy for 3 bridges worth nearly VND4,800 billion

Long An - The project of 3 bridges across the Can Giuoc, Vam Co Dong and Vam Co Tay rivers with a total capital of nearly 4,800 billion VND has been approved by the Provincial People's Council.

On April 29, information from the People's Committee of Long An Province, the project of 3 bridges on the provincial road 827E is the Can Giuoc river bridge, the bridge across the Vam Co Dong River and the Vam Co Tay river bridge has been approved by the Provincial People's Council.

The project is invested by the Long An Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, with a total investment of nearly VND4,800 billion, of which the ODA loan to Korea is more than VND4,000 billion. The expected implementation period is 2025 - 2030.

Can Giuoc Bridge has a length of about 568 m, designed the main pace of the 90 m steel arch form, 6 -lane wide range of bridge. The road leading to the bridge is about 1,482 km long, design speed of 80 km/h. Vam Co bridge is about 1,356 m long, using the main span structure (90 m + 150 m), HL93 design load, 6 lanes wide. Vam Co Tay Bridge has a length of about 1,412 m, using the main rhythm structure Extradosed (80 m + 130 m + 80 m), HL93 design load, 6 -lane wide bridge size.

The People's Committee of Long An province added that the project to clear land for bridges and access roads has been approved under Decision No. 13092/QD-UBND dated December 16, 2024.

According to the assessment, these 3 bridges play a strategic role in completing the province's transport infrastructure, forming a continuous connecting route from Ho Chi Minh City through Long An to Tien Giang. The project will contribute significantly to strengthening the connection between the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City and international gateways, reducing pressure on National Highway 1, National Highway N2, National Highway 50; at the same time, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods and passengers, contributing to reducing congestion, traffic accidents and environmental pollution.

When completed, the project will contribute to promoting the development of the province's key economic sectors such as agriculture, aquaculture, industry, services and tourism; at the same time, improving transportation capacity, attracting investment, serving national defense and security requirements and gradually improving the quality of life of local people.

The provincial road project 827E through Long An province has a total length of 35.6 km, passing 4 districts including: Can Giuoc, Can Duoc, Tan Tru and Chau Thanh. The first point of the route is located at the boundary of Long An - Ho Chi Minh City in Long Hau commune, Can Giuoc district; The end point connected to Tien Giang province in Hiep Thanh commune, Chau Thanh district. This route is expected to become an important urban traffic axis, creating favorable conditions for trade and freight between Ho Chi Minh City and the southwestern provinces. At the same time, the project will also promote the development of industrial parks, urban areas and economic centers along the route.
